Show Notes

Ever think you can’t succeed? I know I struggle with feelings of self-doubt, imposter syndrome, or when it seems I’m fighting a losing battle.

I value our motivational speakers, coaches, and others in the healing professions. Often, just listening to them is so inspirational!

Join me as I talk to Cheri Mason, who built her distinguished career over a lifetime, making positive impacts routinely and persevering through adversity. We’ll discover what keeps her going and how you can, too.

The incredible journey of the Honorable Cheryl L. Mason began amidst the picturesque foothills of Appalachia in the small industrial town of Portsmouth, Ohio. Cheryl learned early on that life’s challenges present opportunities to overcome difficulties and impact others.

Undeterred by countless rejections from Nebraska to Germany and ultimately to DC, Cheryl persevered and defied all odds to become the first woman and military spouse Chairman of the VA Board of Veterans' Appeals.

Through her genuine relational leadership style, Cheryl supported and nurtured her team and spearheaded innovative change.

Her unwavering dedication transformed a struggling federal agency into a highly functioning organization, bringing tangible results to veterans and fostering increased trust and morale among her employees.

As a speaker, author, and catalyst leader, Cheryl inspires and encourages people by sharing her experiences of fierce perseverance and her caring leadership style to view obstacles as stepping stones for growth.

Cheryl received her B.A. in Political Science and Psychology from Ohio Northern University and her J.D. from Creighton University School of Law. She is the spouse of a USAF veteran and the daughter of a WWII Navy veteran.

Cheryl enjoys playing golf with her husband and walking their family dogs. She is regularly found advocating for the military, their families, veterans, and military spouses and increasing awareness around suicide awareness/prevention.
